Re-opening Plan and Return to Work Policies for Mesalands Community College

May 28, 2021 – Mesalands Community College announced its updated Re-opening plan. The Re-opening plan had been developed following a thorough review of Higher Education institutions across the nation and a collaborative effort by Faculty and Staff. The Re-opening plan was instituted May 28, 2021. The plan requires employees to return to on-campus work and attendance June 14, 2021.

Employees who are fully vaccinated and show their vaccination cards to Human Resources Specialist, Tammy Hall, will no longer be required to check-in or wear masks on campus. In addition, employees will qualify for an added day of vacation.

Students may also show their vaccination card to Student Affairs and receive a $25 Gift Card to the Campus Book Store plus two tickets to the Dinosaur Museum. Everyone will be required to wear masks and check-in until the required steps are taken to show vaccination.

President Dr. Gregory Busch presents his vaccination card

Dr. Gregory Busch kicked off the new “Return to Work” policies by showing Tammy Hall (Human Resources Specialist) his vaccination card. In return, Dr. Busch will no longer be required to check-in or wear a mask on campus.

In continuing efforts to keep our campus and community safe, Mesalands Community College will be hosting a Community Vaccination Event Thursday June 3, 2021 in the “Great Room” located in Building A. Johnson and Johnson will be the provided vaccination shot, next Thursday afternoon 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Attendees are required to schedule their vaccination at vaccinenm.org. The wonderful community of Tucumcari is invited to participate as well. If this event, hosted by Mesalands Community College is an inconvenient time, the Quay County Public Health Office will be administering the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on Wednesday, June 2, and Wednesday, June 9, from 9:00am to 12:00pm (on each day) at the Tucumcari Convention Center. Prior registration is required online at www.vaccinenm.org.

“Many of us have received our vaccines. Join us in ending this pandemic and returning to a normal college experience (Re-opening Plan, p.5).”
Review the “Return to Work Policies” and join Dr. Gregory Busch by revealing your smile and gaining a day of vacation!
