Mesalands Community College experiencing enrollment growth

November 10, 2014

Summer 2014 enrollment numbers have been finalized at Mesalands Community College and the results show a significant increase in the number of students attending the College. Summer enrollment increased by double digits in both headcount and in registered credit hours, compared to the previous year.

“Over the last year, Mesalands has focused on recruiting efforts and we are now seeing that effort come to fruition,” said Dr. Thomas W. Newsom, President of Mesalands Community College. “It is an exciting time, not only to be a part of the College, but to see some growth in our community through the College.”

Dr. Newsom says he challenged the faculty and staff at Mesalands with an increased enrollment goal of six percent per semester. Mesalands achieved this goal for the summer and expect to do the same this semester, as compared to the prior year. The College is already working on their enrollment goal for the spring.

Early enrollment for the spring semester starts Tuesday, November 11 at Mesalands and students are encouraged to register early, as classes may fill-up prior to the end of the registration period. The spring semester starts on January 20.
