Artistic Silversmithing
The Artistic Silversmithing Program at Mesalands Community College is designed to enable students in the acquisition of skills necessary for self employment or employment with a major manufacturer used in the traditional western culture. Western culture arts include the custom designing, fabricating, and engraving of bits, spurs, buckles, bracelets, and pendants worn and used in traditional western culture. Specific styles of engraving, such as western bright cut, single point, and bulino are also taught. Mesalands provides a one-semester Occupational Certificate and a one-year Applied Science Certificate in Artistic Silversmithing.
