2022-2023 Academic Profile
Student Demographics
In the Fall of 2022, Mesalands Community College had a headcount of 824 students. Of these 65% were male and 35% were female. The ethnic diversity was 3% American Indian/Alaska Native, 1% Asian/Pacific Islander, 5% Black/African American, 43% Hispanic/Latino, 36% White, 12% race/ethnicity unknown.
In the Fall of 2022, 38.5% were dual enrollment students, 34% were correctional facility students, and 27.5% were main campus students. 51% of were Degree Seeking students, while 49% were Non-Degree Seeking students.
In the Spring of 2023, Mesalands Community College had a headcount of 708 undergraduate students, plus 81 Community Ed students. Of these 57% were male and 43% were female. 82% were registered as part-time (less that 12 credit hours) and 18% were full-time (12 of more credit hours) students.
In the Spring of 2023, 47% were duel enrollment students, 23% were correctional facility students, and 29% were main campus students. 56% were Degree Seeking students, while 44% were Non-Degree Seeking students.
Retention Rates
For the Fall of 2021, 58% of first-time, full-time undergraduate students, returned in the Fall of 2022. The part-time student retention rate was 67%.
Graduation and Completion Rates
The overall Graduation Rate was 52%. The Graduation Rate for Women was
62% and 46% for Men. The Transfer-out rate was 3%.
