The Mesalands Rodeo Team had an excellent showing at the NIRA Grand Canyon Region #1 on 9/18 and 9/19. Our athletes racked up impressive points and built strong momentum that they will surely carry into our upcoming Home Rodeo.

The Stampede finished first overall in bareback riding after this event, thanks to a dominant performance by the team’s riders. Trace, who went to nationals last year, finished first in the region after that event, picking up right where he left off last year. The women’s team also delivered a landmark performance, securing fourth place overall, their highest finish in recent memory.

This good form by the men’s and women’s Stampede gives us reason to be excited as we close in on our Home Rodeo. Since NIRA Grand Canyon Region #1, the team has been practicing and working hard to bring an even higher level of performance in front of the home crowd on October 9th and 10th. “They are a good group of kids, and I am looking forward to seeing them compete at their best!” said the head coach.

The Mesalands Home Rodeo is a crucial event for our athletes, as well as athletes from the region trying to book a spot at the nationals. It promises intense competition and great entertainment.
