We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for our students and faculty to learn artistic western silversmithing! Juan Martinez, one of our dear alumni, is leading belt buckle and spur production workshops on campus, in the silversmithing/cowboy arts lab. The belt buckle workshop starts tomorrow, 11/7, and goes on until Sunday, 11/9; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. And the spur production workshop will be from Friday, 11/14, to Sunday, 11/16, also from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is free for all students and faculty, so there is absolutely nothing stopping you from taking advantage of this excellent chance!
Juan is an accomplished silversmith who owns a shop in Amarillo. It goes without saying that this is a great opportunity for students and instructors to sharpen up their skills, add some pieces to their collection, and maybe even get some tips on how to eventually set up their own store. So, make sure to show up! No sign-ups needed, drop in anytime within the time frame above and learn in a hands-on environment from a top-level artist!
