At Mesalands Community College

TUCUMCARI, NM – The Mesalands Intercollegiate Rodeo Team has a rich tradition of competing at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). Members of the Mesalands Rodeo Team have the opportunity to train at the competition-size rodeo facility adjacent to the College with a rough stock arena. Multiple practices throughout the week contribute to the Team’s success.

Home Rodeo OCTOBER 11 & 12

In October each year, the college hosts a Home Rodeo. This year’s rodeo is October 11 – 12, 2024

CHEER on the STAMPED! Rodeo Clown Ben James will entertain audiences with laughs and surprises. Hello, I’m rodeo clown Ben James. Born and raised in the small town of Gooding Idaho. I’m a 3rd generation rodeo cowboy, when I’m not chasing rodeos, I’m home running a small cattle operation and fencing company, along with raising my family.

Mesalands also offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for their student athletes. Each member of the Mesalands Rodeo Team is awarded a Mesalands Rodeo Scholarship, and the Rodeo Non-Resident Grant is available for out-of-state students. Other financial aid opportunities, including grants, work study, and other scholarships are available for those who qualify.

Personal coaching, a caring faculty and staff, and small class sizes create an effective learning environment for our student athletes. Mesalands also offers a wide array of degrees and certificate programs to assist students in reaching their educational goals.
