Mesalands Community College helped students ‘find their way’ during the Student Orientation last week. The event was held in the Great Room and was set up in booth style, with various College staff and faculty members, meeting with students to discuss their departments.
These departments included: student activities and organizations, distance education, Information Technology, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), the Mesalands Dinosaur Museum and Natural Sciences Laboratory, the Library, the Business Office, the Financial Aid Office, the Bookstore, the Educational Services Center, the intercollegiate rodeo program, and student success/persistence. Guests Ben Langford from Arise Sexual Assault Services and Corrine Turner from Mental Health Resources also discussed Title IX (addressing sexual harassment and sexual violence) with students.
Following the orientation, students, faculty, and staff members attended the Welcome Back Pizza Party. There were 100 attendees to the orientation and 80 for the pizza party.
