March 6th proved a special day for Mesalands Community College (MCC) as Diane Grap, the enrollment services specialist, mixed and matched the GradFest and career fair to make an event that would offer students a unique opportunity. It took place in the college’s great hall, featuring food, beverage, and even a photo booth! The college also invited potential employers and partner universities to help its upcoming graduates figure out their next step.
During the event, graduating seniors met with our team of advisors to apply for graduation, an essential step to ensure they receive their degree at the end of the semester after completing their final courses. Students could also purchase a cap and gown to complete their look for the highly anticipated commencement ceremony.
Seniors from various programs showed up, they had the chance to begin their job search by networking with employers who showed interest in MCC’s graduates. Some students expressed the desire to continue their education at a 4-year university, others are eager to get a job with their new degree.
Several paths are now available to these upcoming graduates, as an associate degree provides credentials that can significantly aid in career development or furthering education. Students looking to continue to the bachelor’s would have saved an average of anywhere between $8000 and $30,000 according to savingforcollge.com.
Mesalands Community College prides itself in contributing to the development of its region by offering a high-quality education at an affordable cost to anyone looking to acquire valuable skills.
