Mesalands Community College is currently preparing for their 15th Annual Iron Pour that will be held on March 10-16, 2013 at the foundry. The iron pour attracts students from all over the U.S. and many return year after year to participate in this workshop because of the state-of-the-art facilities at the foundry and the hospitality of Tucumcari residents.
In order to make this event another success, Mesalands is requesting donations of cast iron, such as radiators, bath tubs, and sinks. These items must be able to be broken with a sledge hammer. Engine blocks cannot be used for this purpose. Mesalands will also accept items that are already broken.
