Mesalands Community College is pleased to announce that the Stampede Village Apartment Complex is now open for the spring 2018 semester. Stampede Village provides students with affordable and convenient housing, to help them succeed at Mesalands Community College.
The 30-bed complex, consists of one and two-bedroom furnished apartments.
This is the first time Mesalands will be offering student housing. Dr. Thomas W. Newsom, President of Mesalands, explains the significance of this accomplishment.
“We are very excited to get our housing program off the ground, with our first group of student residents moving in this spring,” said Dr. Newsom. “This really moves the College in a new direction as a residential institution, with a true student living-learning environment. We are also excited that this will bring more students into our community, to be residents of Tucumcari and Quay County, in hope that this is just the start of a growing student life program.”
The Stampede Village Apartment Complex is gated, close to campus, and has support staff on-site. Rental costs range from $1,575 per person for a double room to $2,375 for a single room per semester. During the summer semester, rental costs will range from $800 per person for a double room and $1,200 for a single. Rent includes utilities, internet, and parking.
Stampede Village is available to students at Mesalands Community College, who are registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours, in good academic standing, and are 17 years of age or older. To apply, students will need to submit a housing application and pay a $200 refundable deposit. Financial Aid is also available for those students who qualify.
