
On April 8th, 2025, the college’s nursing program made an appearance on the popular TV show 2nd cup. The program’s tremendous impact on its community was acknowledged by News Channel 10; therefore, the TV station invited the college to highlight this vital program and spread the word about its availability.
Shannon Fries, the director of the nursing program, and Kayla Hughes, a lead simulation lab coordinator and nursing instructor, both represented the college in the television broadcast. They answered questions about the program and gave viewers an insight into the experience of a student in the nursing program at Mesalands Community College. The two school representatives mentioned the high-tech simulated lab and the individualized attention given to students as key factors in the program’s impressive success.
