Mesalands begins Fall Community Education classes

Mesalands Community College is pleased to announce that the Fall 2016 Community Education classes will begin this month.

This semester community members have the opportunity to take a variety of Fine Arts classes, which includes learning color and ink techniques (Watercolor Workshop – October 21 and October 22), exploring the foundry process to cast aluminum projects (Casting Workshop – October 14 and October 15), drawing Halloween-themed comic book pages (Comic Book Workshop – October 28 and 29), and learning how to use Photoshop, for various graphic design projects (Photoshop – October 21 and
October 28).

Three sewing classes will also be offered to teach students the following techniques: the basics of how to use a sewing machine (Adults Can Sew! – How to Use a Sewing Machine – October 12), special tips for hemming and sewing seams (Adults Can Sew! – Hems, Seams, Mending – October 19), and the most common ways to sew in a zipper (Adults Can Sew! – Hems, Seams, Mending – October 26).

Other community education classes include, unlocking one’s creativity and unique narrative voice (Creating Writing Workshop – on-going enrollment), learning the natural healing properties of herbal medicines (Traditional Herbal Medicine-Remedios Naturals – October 18 and October 20), and building robotic devices (Robotics Club – on-going enrollment).
