Creative Writing Workshop starts next week

August 31, 2015

The Creative Writing Workshop will begin next Thursday, September 8 from 6-8 pm in Room A121. The Creative Writing Workshop is a free community education class instructed by Gregg Howard, English and Communication Faculty at Mesalands. This weekly workshop will be held on Thursdays throughout the fall semester. During this workshop, students learn how to unlock their creativity, improve their powers of imagination and visualization, and develop their unique narrative voice. Each week a new aspect of writing will be discussed. This is an open enrollment class.

Recently, two participants of the Creative Writing Workshop, Levi Mericle and Earline Scheff, received awards for their original fiction and poetry at the Quay County Fair last month. Both students also had some of their work read during the Literature and Performing Arts Showcase that was held the last night of the fair. Fair organizers plan to continue this event next year.

To sign up for the Creative Writing Workshop, please contact Gregg Howard at (575) 461-4413, ext. 137, or via email at [email protected].
