Researchers from Mesalands Community College presented a poster on their water research at the 2016 New Mexico Academy of Science Research (NMAS) Symposium earlier this month in Albuquerque. Only 50 projects in New Mexico were selected to present at this annual event that focused on water, energy, and the environment. Terrill Stowe, Wind Energy Technology Faculty Member and researcher, with Casey West, a Mesalands student majoring in Wind Energy Technology, presented their research entitled “Ecological Changes Due to Water Level Fluctuations in the Conchas Reservoir.”

This event was sponsored by NMAS and its partners, the New Mexico Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NM EPSCoR) and the University of New Mexico. The Natural Sciences Department at Mesalands would also like to thank the Albuquerque District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their support of travel funds for those that attended this event.
