Complete the Admissions Application
This application will ask you to provide the information we need to get you into our system, laying the ground work to getting you on your way.
Take a placement exam.
If you are in the Tucumcari area, contact the Educational Services center to complete the placement exam. The College provides the placement exam to first-time Mesalands students.
Apply for Financial Aid.
Applying for Finanical Aid will determine if you are eligble for Federal Student Aid as well as Grants and Scholarships, all of which can reduce your out of pocket costs to attend Mesalands Community College.
Find your degree requirements.
Search for the degree or certificate (program) you want. Mesalands is proud to offer some unique degrees and certificates as well as the more common ones.
If you are planning to complete your associates with the intention of transfering to a 4-year university, the Liberal Arts University studies program will get you on your way.
Meet with your Program Advisor
Contact Student Affairs or email [email protected] to find out who your Program Advisor is. Schedule a meeting to work out your schedule for the first semester. Your Advisor will work with you to select the courses you need to take to complete your degree or certificate on a schedule that meets your needs based on course offerings in the next semester.
Check your mail
We will send important correspondence to the address you submit on your application regarding the progress of your application. Including an Acceptance Letter, hang on to this one some places may ask for it as proof that you have been accepted.
Check your email
Within a few days of acceptance you will be provided with an @Mesalands.edu email account. Add this account to your smartphone to stay in touch with the Mesalands community. Your @Mesalands.edu email address is the official communication channel for all things Mesalands, be sure to use it when contacting your instructor or anyone at the College.
