Local restaurateur, Tammy Fang, will demonstrate how to prepare many Chinese favorites. Students will experience hands-on training in preparing, stir-fry, egg-drop soup, Kung Pao chicken, fried rice, and chicken chow mein. An additional $5 supply fee will be payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.

Anyone—young or mature—interested in earning their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma is encouraged to attend. The following topics will be discussed: intake process, placement testing, advising, class availability and registration. The HiSET® exam, currently administered at Mesalands Community College, and its testing segments will be introduced. Come and get your questions answered and work toward earning your HSE diploma!

Do you know little to nothing about how to use a computer? Ever wonder what computer terms like hardware, software, mouse, and keyboard mean? If you are not sure about those terms and want to know more, this class is for you—the very beginning computer user!

Introduction to Disc Golf

This course is an introduction to the rules and governing body of disc golf, as well as the equipment used to play the sport. The lab portion of the class will focus on instruction of the various throwing styles. Students will have an opportunity to apply some of these techniques in the form of a putting game. A $10 supply fee, that includes a quality disc, will be payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.

Are you fascinated by the weather? National Weather Service (NWS) Albuquerque is currently recruiting volunteer SKYWARN™ weather spotters and volunteers for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS).

NWS Meteorologists will teach the basics of severe local storms to include thunderstorms, flash floods, downburst winds, tornadoes, and more! Most importantly, you will learn how to stay safe and prepared.

Essential Oils
Katrina and Jim Hayes will be teaching a series of introductory classes on the benefits of pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. These classes will helps students understand how essential oils can support the body’s physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual well-being.

In this class, students learn about a group of essential oils that will help relieve pain, as well as reduce inflammation. Blending and layering certain essential oils for the best pain relief, will also be covered in this class.

In this class/lab, the instructors will introduce essential oils that will boost your mood, help your memory, make learning easier, and help you focus on tasks at hand. You will make your own citrus sugar scrub. An additional $10 supply fee will be payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.
