High School Equivalency (HSE)

Mesalands Community College provides high school equivalency (HSE) testing services to give students 16 years of age or older the opportunity to earn a high school diploma. Mesalands also offers free preparatory classes to help students prepare for the exam. Upon satisfactory completion of the high school equivalency test (HiSET) the student will be awarded a New Mexico High School diploma. HiSET are invited to participate in the College’s spring graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievement.

The staff at Mesalands strive to help students reach their personal goals and will assist HSE graduates, who are interested in continuing their education towards an associate’s degree or certificate. Mesalands HSE graduates may qualify for the HSE Presidential Scholarship, the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship, and several other scholarships and grants.
