STEPS FOR PROSPECTIVE WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

 

1.    Submit an admissions application or an online admissions application and Official Transcripts to Mesalands Community College, contact Student Services for forms.

 

2.    Complete the Success/Assessment Placement Test at Mesalands Community College or the ACT COMPASS Test at another test center. Contact the Mesalands Community College Educational Services Center at (575) 461-4413, extension 123, to arrange to take the Success/Assessment Placement Test.

 

Have your test scores evaluated for admission to the Wind Energy Technology Program.  If your test scores meet admission requirements, skip to Step 4. If not, see step 3.

 

  1. Complete all required pre-collegiate courses as prescribed by the COMPASS exam with a grade of C or higher.

 

  1. Complete required physical exam and pay the $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve a class placement. Physical examination process and forms are here or contact Student Services for process description and exam forms.  If a position is available in the next scheduled Wind Energy Technology Program, register for classes and apply for financial aid or make arrangements for payment. Contact the financial aid office for Scholarship/Grant Application.

 

  1. If there is not an open position in the next scheduled Wind Energy Technology Program, enroll in the following required general education courses or program enhancement courses until there is an open position in the program:

GEOL 141   Introduction to Environmental Science (4 credits)

Social Science/Humanities Requirements (2 classes – 6 credits total)
