Susan Reid retires from Mesalands after 25 years

Mesalands Community College is pleased to announce that Susan Reid, Library Technician, retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Reid was instrumental in assisting the College through four accreditation processes, acted as temporary Librarian over the years, and was nominated by her colleagues as Staff Member of the Year for 2015. Reid exemplifies what this award stands for, she demonstrates excellence in overall work performance, promotes positive morale with a supportive attitude, improves operating efficiency while exhibiting initiative and creativity, and demonstrates the goals identified in the College Mission Statement.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Susan for over 20 years,” said Natalie Gillard, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Mesalands Community College. “Her loyalty, dedication, and perseverance have been unwavering and should be recognized and remembered. Along the journey, there have been fun times and not so fun times, but due to Susan’s strength, courage and commitment, she held steadfast and survived the journey.”

The Library played a significant role in the accreditation planning process. During this process, Reid served on Criterion Committees, conducted research, and gathered and organized library resources. Reid’s journey through four successful HLC accreditations, demonstrates her extensive knowledge of Mesalands. This wisdom has been vital to the growth and success of the College.
