Mesalands Community College students enrolled in SW 218: Introduction to Social Welfare, with the assistance of the Student Affairs Office, had a ‘Find Your Way at Mesalands Day’ for the fourth grade classes at Tucumcari Elementary School. This was a class service project for the social work students, to learn macro-level practices, and how to organize and execute a non-profit event for the community. The fourth-graders took a tour of the campus, met with faculty and staff, attended a college class, and received a certificate of completion at the end of the event. A total of 82 fourth-graders participated.
