Bryan Cassiday and Sanda Garrett

Two of Mesalands Community College students and one faculty member will be travelling to Denmark, Copenhagen to learn more about global perspectives in sustainable development. This is part of the Community Colleges for International Development, Inc, “Troika Study Abroad Programs.” The primary objective of this program is to provide community college students with greater access to study abroad opportunities, as well as unique faculty professional development.

Jef Cotham, Business Administration Faculty; Sanda Garrett, Business Administration Student; and Bryan Cassidy, recent  Mesalands graduate in Wind Energy Technology, will be participating in this trip.

“This is my first time to go to Denmark,” Garrett said. “I am very excited. It hasn’t sunk in yet. It will be fun, and there will be a lot to learn—an educational experience.”

During the trip the students will meet with students from other community colleges in Denmark and will have an opportunity to interact with Danish students, faculty and other locals.

The trip will begin on Thursday, May 23 and will end on June 2, 2013.
