Mesalands Rodeo Team won reserve championship title in tie down roping at rodeo in Douglas

Zack Toberer from Mount Ulla, NC, won the tie down roping reserve championship title at the Cochise College rodeo.

Last weekend, the Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team competed in their second rodeo of the season at Cochise College in Douglas, AZ. The Mesalands Rodeo Team finished fourth with 230 points and won the tie down roping reserve championship title.

Sophomore Zack Toberer from Mount Ulla, NC, took second place in tie down roping, with a time of 22.9 seconds in the final round. He brought home the reserve championship title.

Freshman Michael Lucero from Jemez Valley, NM, tied for seventh place in team roping (header), with Tanner Lyman from the University of Arizona (heeler). They had a time of 26.5 seconds in the final round.

This weekend the Mesalands Rodeo Team will be competing at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM. This will be the last rodeo before the 10th Annual Mesalands Fall Rodeo on October 13-14, 2017.
