Mesalands raises nearly $500 in “Favorite Turkey” contest

Beth Sisneros, Director of the Educational Services Center is the winner of the 2014 Favorite Turkey Contest.

Mesalands Community College is pleased to announce that Beth Sisneros, Director of the Educational Services Center, is the winner of the 2014 Favorite Turkey Contest at Mesalands. Sisneros collected the most turkey feathers and won an actual turkey for Thanksgiving. She then donated the turkey to a Mesalands student. A total of 1,918 feathers were sold for a total of $479. This is an increase of $50 from last year. Proceeds from this event will go towards the Shoeboxes for Soldiers program and to local victims of domestic violence.

Mesalands is also having a canned food drive that will start on Monday, November 24 and will end on Wednesday, December 17. Donations of food may be dropped off at the Mesalands Library and monetary donations will need to be taken to the Business Office. All proceeds will benefit the Ministry of Hope.
