The Mesalands Community College Foundation Inc. presents ‘Til Death Do Us Part fundraiser on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the North American Wind Research and Training Center. During this event, guests will trade clues to help the unlucky couple catch the murderer among their wedding party. Doors will open at 6 pm and the dinner theater will begin at 7 pm. Tickets are $50 per person and include a shrimp boil dinner. Proceeds from the ‘Til Death Do Us Part fundraiser, will be used to support programs, which benefit Mesalands Community College and their students.

“Our theme this year is ‘Til Death Do Us Part and the murder takes place during a country wedding. We had some really good feedback from people that attended our murder mystery fundraiser last year, so we decided to do it again this year,” said James Streetman, Secretary/Clerk of the Mesalands Community College Board of Trustees and Secretary of the Mesalands Community College Foundation Board. “This fundraiser is all about benefiting the students and the College. That’s our primary goal.”

The Murder Mystery Company will again be performing an interactive comedy mystery and murder production. According to their website, the Murder Mystery Company operates nationwide and is one of the largest dinner theaters in the nation.

During the ‘Til Death Do Us Part fundraiser, attendees will use their deductive and interrogation skills, to uncover the clues and solve the mystery. Attendees are encouraged to wear their ugly bridesmaids dresses, old wedding dresses, old groomsmen tuxedos, and non-wedding attire to the event.

“This fundraiser is going to be something different and something special for our community,” said Dr. Thomas W. Newsom, President of Mesalands Community College. “This is our opportunity to ask people to support the institution, to support their College through the Foundation with a $50 donation. If you appreciate what we are doing at the College and you would like to help us out, this is the time you can do that.”

A variety of unique experiences offered at Mesalands will also be auctioned off during the fundraiser, including the Mesalands Intercollegiate Rodeo, the Annual Iron Pour, and the Paleontology Field Class (Dino Digs).

Tickets to the fundraiser are available at the Mesalands Community College Business Office and Bookstore, Bobs’ Budget Pharmacy, and from a Mesalands Foundation Board Member.

The Mesalands Foundation Board members, include: Laurie Bidegain, Chair; Craig Currell, Vice Chair; James Streetman, Secretary; Craig Cosner; Liz Estrada; Jeff Lewalling and Beth Sisneros.
