Dr. Thomas W. Newsom, President @mesalandspres

During this month’s Mesalands Board of Trustees meeting, President Dr. Thomas W. Newsom, announced he has been appointed as a Board of Trustee for the Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital. Dr. Newsom also stated that he has been elected as the Chairman of the Executive Committee for the American Association of Community College’s (AACC) Presidents Academy. According to the organization’s website, this committee provides AACC Presidents and Board of Directors with professional development trainings. Dr. Newsom has been serving on this executive committee, representing the western region for the past three years. He will begin his term as chair, starting July 1.

“It’s very humbling to have the opportunity to represent Mesalands Community College, in both a local and national capacity,” Dr. Newsom said at the meeting.
