2008

  • The College has three National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rodeo qualifiers who participate in the National Rodeo Finals and a first-ever Regional Champion.
  • Two Rodeo Team members are Academic All-Americans.
  • 48 Rodeo students for fall 2008 are from 11 states, as well as Canada and Australia.
  • C.J. Aragon is named Grand Canyon Region Coach-of-the-Year for 2008.
  • The Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team competes in the Governor’s High School/College Rodeo Challenge held in Farmington, NM.

2007

  • The College hires C.J. Aragon as the Mesalands Intercollegiate Rodeo Coach.
  • The College receives $49,400 in funding from the New Mexico Rodeo Council through the Governor’s Rodeo Initiative.
  • The Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team competes in the Governor’s High School/College Rodeo Challenge held in Farmington, NM.

2006

  • The Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team competes in the Governor’s High School/College Rodeo Challenge in Farmington, NM.
  • During the fall 2006 semester, there are 26 rodeo students enrolled. This represents an increase of 44.4% from fall 2005.

2001

  • Completion of 55 horse stalls for the Rodeo Program.

1998

  • Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team is developed.
