CE:403 STRONG SENIORS STAY YOUNG
No group in our society can benefit more from regularly performed exercise than middle-aged and older adults. Scientific research has demonstrated that exercise with weights can increase strength, muscle mass and bone density while reducing the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, depression and the risk of falling. In this class, seniors will participate in safe and progressive 8-12 week strength training program with the goal of improving their health and ability to remain physically independent. This course is offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
