CE 262: Adults Can Sew!  – How to Use a Sewing Machine

Students will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine: winding a bobbin, threading, and basic stitches used for hems and seams.  This is a great opportunity for students to bring their own sewing machine (with correct size bobbin), and learn how to put it to use!

CE 263: Adults Can Sew! – Hems, Seams, Mending

Students will learn some of the most common ways that sewing machines are used, and some special “tips” for hemming and sewing seams. This is a great opportunity for students to bring their own sewing machine (with correct size bobbin), and learn how to put it to use! Students are welcome to bring items that need hems or to be mended to practice with!

CE 264: Adults Can Sew! – Zippers!

Students will learn some of the most common ways to put in a zipper. This is a great opportunity for students to bring their own sewing machine (with correct size bobbin), and learn how to put it to use! Students are welcome to bring items that need zippers (with zipper and thread) to practice with!
CE 270: Casting Workshop

Explore the foundry process of sand block castings. This class will be conducted in the historic Mesalands Community College Foundry. Students will be able to cast their own aluminum tiles and aluminum magnets projects. Students will be required to provide their own magnets for projects.

CE 271: Watercolor Workshop

Explore the possibilities of mixed media painting by combining water color and ink techniques. Discover ways to use each medium to enhance the other while exploring still life subjects and landscape methods. All skill levels are welcome.

CE 272: Comic Book Workshop

HOW TO DRAW COMICS takes you through each step of layout, composition, storytelling, rendering, character turnarounds, and environmental design you’ll need to create professional looking comic pages in no time. The theme of this class will focus on creature, horror, and monster design. All you need to start the course are pencils, paper and a willingness to learn. Both beginners and skilled illustrators are welcome, and so is everyone in between.

CE 273: Photoshop

Join the course for a beginners understanding of Photoshop. Students will be required to bring a treasured old photo that they will then learn to touch up on the first night. The second night, students will learn to colorize the photo.

CE: 505 Creative Writing Workshop

These free workshops are for aspiring writers of all levels. Topics covered may include fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir and publishing.

CE 543: Robotics Club

Cost: $15.00 club fees

Enter the exciting world of robotics. Students will design, build, and test robotic devices in a fun and rewarding way! Students will have the opportunity to enter robotic competitions! Develop creative and unusual devices that challenge your imagination. This robotics workshop will teach you basics of robotics in a team focused environment.

CE 552: Traditional Herbal Medicine- Remedios Naturales and Family Wellness
Instructor: Dr. Dale Harapat- Naturopathic doctor and traditional herbalist

Learn traditional natural herb uses for healing, self-care, and family wellness in cold and flu season. Students will be introduced to the culture native to New Mexico of remedios through natural means. Herbs and their natural healing abilities will be taught to create herbal tinctures for healing purposes.
