GEOL 293 Special Topics in Geology
"Roads Scholar" Program

The Roads Scholar program entails 4- or 5-day fieldtrips in the Southwest, in which students learn about an aspect of the geological evolution of the area. Teaching is conducted in the field, and supplemented by evening lectures. Grades are usually assigned based on class participation and journals.

  • Summer 2001: Canyonlands of Utah (GEOG 293a)

  • Fall 2001: Anasazi Ruins of the Four Corners area (ANTH 293a)

  • Spring 2002: Geology of the Carlsbad Caverns area (GEOL 293f)

  • Spring 2003: Dinosaurs of Colorado (March 21-24, 2003).           

         The enrollment deadline is usually ~3 weeks prior to the start date.
