FIN 114 Principles of Finance
This course introduces the basic elements of business finance: institutions and markets, review of financial statements, financial analysis of forecasting, working capital management, capital budgeting, cost of capital, long term financing, investing, and international business finance.Prerequisite: ACCT 111 and CS100 (WebCT orientation).
The text is second edition of Finance: Investments, Institutions, and Management. It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the three key areas of finance, while placing the greatest emphasis on corporate topics. The broad coverage of introductory finance provides an excellent foundation for finance majors and gives non-majors the financial information necessary for making sound business and personal finance decisions.
The class will make use of the CD-Rom that comes with the book . It is prepared by the author of the book and packaged with every new text, this hands-on multimedia learning tool features chapter overviews, summaries, sample problems with both written answers and audio explanations, and a complete sample test.
