Non-Degree-seeking - New Students
If you are a new student – you have
never attended Mesalands Community College – and you wish to
take course on a non-degree basis, please follow these
steps. Please note, non-degree students are not eligible for
Federal Financial Aid or most other financial aid and
scholarships.

1. You can submit an Application
for Admission in a number of ways:

NOTE: Non-degree students are not
normally required to take the Success/Assessment
Placement Test, unless you will be taking a math or
English course. If you plan to take a math or English
course, see below: |

To take the Success/Assessment
Placement Test, first pay the fee at the cashier’s
window in Building A. Take your receipt to Educational
Services Center in Building A and take the assessment |

|
| |
For alternative methods of determining course placement,
check with the Office of Student Services at (575) 461-4413,
ext. 1530. |
2. Register for classes

You may register for classes in
the Student Services area of Building A. |

On-line registration is
available on the College website prior to the beginning
of the fall and spring semesters. Click the link below
and then click Online Registration:

If you have
already submitted an Application for Admission, you may
also register for classes by phone by calling (575)
461-4413, ext. 153. |
3. Pick up your bill

After registering for
classes, proceed to the cashier’s window to pick up your
bill. |

If you register on-line
or by phone, a bill will be mailed to you. However, if
you are registering within two weeks of the beginning of
class, you will probably need to see the College cashier
to pay in person or call the College cashier at (575)
461-4413, ext. 110 to pay by credit card to insure that
your payment is received prior to the beginning of the
semester. |
4. Make payment

To pay your bill or to arrange for deferred payments, you will need
to see the cashier in Building A. Your bill may also be paid by
credit card by calling (575) 461-4413, ext.110. |
