Digital Interactive Television (DITV)

What Is Digital Interactive Television (DITV)?

The DITV system is more than simply an image on a television screen. Mesalands Community College digital interactive instructional television system utilizes a network of classrooms connected by internet  to classrooms at other sites.  Sites utilize either two-way video and two-way audio or fully interactive video and audio; both allow students the opportunity to participate in class discussions and other activities with students at other sites.

As part of its commitment to serving the needs of the citizens of New Mexico, Mesalands Community College continues to explore new technologies.  These efforts are in keeping with a tradition of service to students and communities in New Mexico.

How To Be a Digital Interactive Television Student

Digital Interactive Television students enroll in classes the same as any other class.  The difference maybe where you attend class, or where the instructor is located.  For example the instructor may be on campus or could be at one of the sites such as Clayton.  The students can be at any of the connected sites and be able to fully participate in the class.

Your instructor may also require you to complete written assignments, journals, quizzes, etc., along with exams on campus, in order to complete the course work for your class.  Be sure to stay in contact with your instructor.  If you  need assistance contact the Director of Instructional Services at 575-461-4413 extension 176, or email christined@mesalands.edu
